Public Relations
Its all about communication. That is the big idea that I have taken away from this topic. Public Relations seems to be most important for the business and media worlds. If they don’t have good PR, revenue is lower, and profits are lower. It seems like companies are trying to balance political awareness while maintaining strong relationships with the public, Coca-cola is one example of a major company trying to balance support for equality movements like Black Lives Matter while they also keep sales up with their products.
It seems like their PR strategy has been better than MLB. MLB moved the all-star game out of Atlanta because of the new voter laws. Many believe that they did not really look at the law, they just did it because of political pressure. They did not communicate their move very well either and so it has not been as successful.
